eSIM Compatible Phones

eSIM support depends on the exact model and, on Android, often on the region and carrier variant. The list below reflects the manufacturers' own published specifications.

Check your own phone first

Model lists are a guide, not a guarantee — the same phone name can ship with and without eSIM in different markets. Two reliable checks:

  • iPhone: Settings → General → About. If you see "Available SIM" or an EID number, the phone supports eSIM.
  • Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs (or Connections → SIM manager on Samsung). An "Add eSIM" or "Download a SIM instead" option means it is supported. Dialling *#06# and seeing an EID is another sign.

The phone must also be carrier-unlocked before a third-party travel eSIM can register on another network.

Devices that support eSIM

Apple iPhone

  • iPhone XR, XS and XS Max and every later iPhone generation
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation, 2020) and SE (3rd generation, 2022)
  • US models from iPhone 14 onwards are eSIM-only (no SIM tray)
  • iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max: eSIM-only in 12 specific markets, but still have a physical SIM tray elsewhere
  • iPhone Duo: eSIM-only worldwide (Apple, September 2026)

Apple iPad

  • iPad Pro (3rd generation) and later, cellular models
  • iPad Air (3rd generation) and later, cellular models
  • iPad (7th generation) and later, and iPad mini (5th generation) and later, cellular models

Google Pixel

  • Pixel 3 and later (Pixel 3 depends on the market and carrier variant)
  • Pixel 4 and every later Pixel generation, including the a-series

Samsung Galaxy

  • Galaxy S20 series and every later S series
  • Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series
  • Galaxy Note 20 series
  • Selected A-series models such as the A54 and A55, depending on region

Other Android brands

  • Motorola Razr (2019) and later Razr foldables, Edge 40 series and later
  • Huawei P40 and Mate 40 series (excluding Pro+ variants)
  • Oppo Find X3 Pro and later Find X flagships, Reno series from Reno 5A
  • Sony Xperia 10 III Lite, Xperia 1 IV and later flagships
  • Honor Magic 4 Pro and later, Nothing Phone (1) and later, Xiaomi 12T Pro and 13 series

Update: iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro

Announced in September 2026, the foldable iPhone Duo features an eSIM-only design worldwide, per Apple — with no physical SIM tray. The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are eSIM-only in 12 specific markets (Bahrain, Canada, Guam, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the U.S. and the U.S. Virgin Islands); outside those markets, models with a physical SIM tray remain available.
